Frequently Asked Questions

General

01What is Karaliman: Emanetler?

A PC MMORPG set in Karaliman, a city cut off from the world by a wall of fog on the Night of Two Skies. Among creatures of legend and beings from beyond, you hunt in groups, craft, trade, and pledge yourself to one of four factions to fight on the Red Lines.

02Which platforms will it be on?

PC only. The game is played with a third-person camera, on keyboard and mouse.

03When will it be released?

No release date has been announced yet. When there is one, it will be announced on this site first.

04Will it cost anything?

Pricing and the business model have not been announced yet. They will be listed on this page once confirmed.

05Is the game in Turkish?

Yes. Karaliman: Emanetler is being developed in Turkish. No decision about other languages has been announced yet.

Story and world

06Who do I play as?

One of the Entrusted: strangers who walk out of the sea onto the Silent Shore with no memory of their names, and who absorb Essence far faster than ordinary people. Your journey begins at Rıfat the Innkeeper’s caravanserai, with a blanket and a bowl of soup.

07How do I travel the world?

The city of Karaliman, its surrounding towns and the countryside all lie within the wall of fog. Each region is a separate map, linked by Thresholds: gateways woven with runes. A Threshold will not let you through until you are ready.

08What creatures will I face?

Two kinds. Those from the Copper Sky are the beings of folk tales: the gulyabani, the al karısı, the hortlak, the tepegöz. Those from the Dark Sky resemble nothing in any tale.

09How is the story told?

Through a main quest chain and side quests. The city’s past you piece together yourself, from newspaper clippings, notebooks, radio logs and what people tell you.

Character, class and faction

10What classes are there?

Four: Warrior, Marksman, Mage and Healer. Each class has a mechanic of its own; details are on the Classes page.

11How do I create my character?

There are no races. You choose your class, one of two genders, and one of the preset faces and hairstyles. Your look changes with the equipment you wear, and you can wear costumes on top.

12When do I choose my faction, and can I change it later?

You choose your faction when you create your character. After the shared starting area, at a certain level, you move to your faction’s town. You can change faction later, but it comes at a cost.

13What does my faction change?

It shapes your class’s skills and equipment, and decides whose side you stand on along the Red Lines. Within each faction there are also clans and a party system.

14Can I fight if I join the Innkeepers?

No. The Innkeepers do not fight, and no one can target them. They may enter the Red Lines but cannot take part in the fighting there. In return, they enjoy privileges in trade and caravan quests.

Combat and PvP

15Where does PvP happen?

Only in the war zones known as the Red Lines. Under the Innkeepers’ Oath, no blood is spilled in the city or the towns. On the Red Lines, the Iron Regiment, the Union and the Covenant fight one another.

16What happens when I die?

You lose experience and glory, and your equipment’s enchantment and damage rating drop. You can rekindle a faded enchantment on the Anvil.

17What is the Sky Shift?

The density of Essence drifts from region to region over time. For a while one faction’s runes grow stronger in one region, while another faction gains the upper hand somewhere else.

Groups, crafting and trade

18Can I play solo?

You can do part of the exploration and quests on your own. Dungeons and bosses, however, are designed for group play, from small parties up to large raids.

19How is loot shared?

Everyone gets their own loot. When a boss falls, no one can take anyone else’s share.

20How do crafting and trade work?

Professions are linked: one profession’s product is another’s raw material. You can sell what you make at your own stall or at the central market in Yolağzı.
